The present contempt petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of the judgment dated 07th May, 2025, passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(C) 11267/2024, titled as Cristoo Arora Versus Union of India and Anr.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Division Bench vide the aforesaid judgment had granted time to the petitioner herein to file reply to a Show Cause Notice, till 10th July, 2025. Further, the Adjudicating Authority was directed to issue a notice of personal hearing to the petitioner herein.

He submits that despite such directions, the petitioner’s access to the Goods and Service Tax (“GST”) Portal was not restored by the respondents, and the said portal did not allow the petitioner to file its reply to the Show Cause Notice.

physically on 10th July, 2025, however, he could not do so owing to torrential rainfall and waterlogging in Delhi. Further, the petitioner again attempted to physically submit the reply on 16th July, 2025, however, the same was declined by respondent no. 2. 5. This Court notes that as per the directions of the Division Bench, the requisite reply had to be submitted by the petitioner by 10th July, 2025. In case, the petitioner has been unable to submit the reply by the said date, as granted by the Division Bench, this Court in contempt proceedings cannot grant any extension to the petitioner.

Accordingly, no orders can be passed in the present petition granting any extension of time to file reply to the Show Cause Notice.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be granted liberty to approach the Division Bench, in this regard.

Needless to state, the petitioner is at liberty to seek his remedies, in accordance with law.
