Cause title — parties, addresses and appearances
J U D G M E N T In terms of Ext.P3 notice, the petitioner is called upon to apply for assignment of a new registration mark for the vehicle referred to in the writ petition and pay tax in respect of the said vehicle. The case of the petitioner is that the vehicle is one registered in the State of Pondicherry and that he is not liable to apply for assignment of fresh registration mark for the same as provided for under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The petitioner, therefore, raised an objection to the demand made in Ext.P3 notice. Ext.P4 is the objection. The limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, when this matter was taken up for admission, is for a direction to the first respondent to take a decision on Ext.P4 objection after affording the petitioner an opportunity of hearing.
